Highly specialized sales coordinator position for Medicare Sales Team.  Assists Government Growth Department in management day to day internal and field activities that support growth initiatives. Responsible for supporting sales and marketing with activities for selling senior products and oversight with compliance for CMS rules and regulations.  Supports Sales Leadership with all sales operation functions.  


Required Work Experience 

  • 5 year(s) of experience in insurance or sales service field in an operations role. 

  • 3 years of experience with systems and learning new programs. 

  • 5 years of Medicare experience and a strong understanding of CMS guidelines.   

Required Education 

  • High-School Diploma or GED in general field of study. 

Required Licenses 

  • Must have active, current and unrestricted AZ Life & Health License.

Preferred Work Experience 

  • 7 years of experience in Medicare-related insurance sales and operations field.  

Preferred Education 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or related field.

  • Work collaboratively with both internal and external key stakeholders to ensure BCBSAZ’s Medicare products are showcased and sold through various sales channels. 
  • Provide answers, information, and identify and analyze problems related to all BCBSAZ Medicare products, policies and procedures, brokers and customers for the Medicare Sales team. 

  • Respond timely to all communications as accurately as possible; these may include requests for information, research, or other action or need for assistance requiring resolution. 

  • Assist with broker supplies and support Medicare Sales Team with Broker trainings and events. Meet with brokers face-to-face to provide assistance as needed. 

  • May be required to provide information to corporate project managers, sales excellence, enrollment and other areas of the organization to ensure Medicare operations are fully functioning and meeting expected outcomes. 

  • Interact daily with BCBSAZ Marketing, Contracting, Enrollment, IT, Commissions, Legal and other departments as required to complete daily functions. 

  • Professionally manage vital business relationships, by meeting with key decision makers on a routine basis. Respond to requests and provide strategic guidance to increase sales.  Ensure sales activities are being done compliantly.   

  • May be assigned special projects and report requests for Sales managers.  

  • Demonstrate and maintain current working knowledge of the required systems, procedures, forms and manuals.  Responsible for maintaining up to date policies & procedures and all internal manuals. 

  • Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Provide all customers with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating our core and leader behaviors each and every day. 

  • Assist in the management of day to day sales assignments for Sales team, plan and projects, work assignments 

  • Work cross-functionally with internal/external departments to meet team objectives 

  • Responsible for accurate review and entry of sales leads, events data, and other information into appropriate systems to meet compliance, following up with appropriate departments as needed 

  • Responsible for assisting in lead management and salesforce adherence with internal/external agents, conduct training as necessary with new hires.  

  • Input, review and submit all sales events formal and informal to marketing timely and work with sales teams on timely submission via annual calendar invites. 

  • Assist managers in projects to create reports, track data and distribute needed support materials. 

  • Create and maintain reports to track activities, leads, sales for management. 

  • Maintain and manage department shared drive and keep materials updated 

  • Assist internal management and external brokers with obtaining and distributing needed support materials 

  • Maintain and manage department supplies and keep inventory 

  • Track Deliverable and evaluate and assess results of projects 

  • Interpret and comply with complex rules and regulations per Medicare Guidelines 

  • Work with temporary employees as needed 

  • The position requires a full-time work schedule. Full-time is defined as working at least 40 hours per week, plus any additional hours as requested or as needed to meet business requirements.
