Purpose of the job

  • Develops, implements and manages strategies to create new products and keep BCBSAZ’s existing products competitive in the marketplace while ensuring their profitability and compliance with state and federal regulation. Creates and delivers product information to internal and external stakeholders, and serves as subject matter expert for product-related questions.



Required Work Experience
  • Level 3: 5 years of experience in business analysis, insurance, product development or related field

  • Level 3: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Healthcare, Marketing or related field

LEVEL 3 -Product Manager

  • Develop multi-year strategies, priorities and roadmap by line of business
  • Serve as product advocate, creating and presenting promotional messaging and education to internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop, optimize and manage product portfolios. Responsible for the product life cycle and making recommendations for growth and retention.
  • Drive and bring to market complex and critical initiatives with minimal oversight
  • Own and champion product ideation, including generating, developing, curating and promoting new ideas. Develop proposals for management approval.
  • Create and implement successful product launch strategies in collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Actuarial and others
  • Maintain top-level knowledge of competitive, health care delivery, distribution channel, consumer, and employer landscapes, identifying market opportunities and competitive gaps


  • Each progressive level includes the ability to perform the essential functions of any lower levels and mentor employees in those levels.
  • The position requires a full-time work schedule. Full-time is defined as working at least 40 hours per week, plus any additional hours as requested or as needed to meet business requirements.
