PURPOSE OF THE JOB 

Work together with the Medical Director and Senior Leadership team to ensure excellence in operations across multiple clinic sites across Maricopa County.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

In addition to hiring, leading, and managing a team of Center Managers and team members who ensure excellence in care delivery operations and membership experience, have responsibility to contribute expertise and value for other non-clinical operational functions required for a successful care delivery experience. 

  • Serve as a multi-disciplinary leader & in service to creation of a strong team culture and the overall success of the operation. 

  • Provide leadership and P&L management over the Care delivery Advanced Primary Care operation.  Responsible for all center operations across the market. As a new organization, there is a significant focus on growth and delivering a signature member experience resulting in exemplary member satisfaction. 

  • Organize the team around shared objectives regularly; lead daily clinical huddles with a goal of ensuring success in population health management, and overall ensure the team is focused on the right issues including participating in the establishment of appropriate financial/operational/quality performance goals (KPIS) 

  • Strategically support external market development activities, such as guiding payor, provider, and community partnerships 

  • Work in a dyad relationship with the Market Medical Director to ensure the care delivery transformation project is delivering on the patient promise and meeting market performance objectives 

  • Oversee and ensure the high-performance referral network is managed well and results in an exemplary experience for the patient, provider and overall delivers the best care to our members which is a key tenant of our brand promise.  

  • Review financial reports to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and improvement 

  • Volunteer within the community to help BCBSAZ give back to community charitable efforts. 

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of time to attend work related business meetings, trainings, and conferences. 

  • The position requires a full-time work schedule. Full-time is defined as working at least 40 hours per week, plus any additional hours as requested or as needed to meet business requirements.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

  • Strong business and leadership experience demonstrated experience in managing to a P & L ,  strategic planning, resource allocation, people management and understanding human resources needs and a strong desire and skillset around health care operations 

  • Have personal experience in leading within value-based models of care delivery; demonstrates a strong knowledge of population health management and models of care delivery to support. 

  

Required Professional Competencies 

  • Deep knowledge of primary care operations. and quality management and auditing. Proven knowledge of medical care delivery systems, quality management, benefit interpretation, provider relationships, and member services. 

  • Strong written and verbal communications. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 

  • Demonstrated ability to identify organizational gaps and drives implementation of processes to close gaps. 

  • Ability to develop, organize, motivate, coordinate, and collaborate effectively with staff and stakeholders from multiple business areas across the organization. 

  • Ability to successfully function in an environment characterized by risk taking, rapidly changing market conditions, strong competition and restructuring. 

  • Strong understanding of the costs/quality challenges of today’s health care environment. 

  • Ability to identify key strategic performance measures for success.
