The Diversity Equity and Inclusion Specialist proactively supports Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) strategies, initiatives, and policies, the DEI Leadership Council and organizational Affinity Groups.

ESSENTIAL job functions AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The DEI Specialist primary functions are to provide staff support to the Sr. Mgr. DEI and the DEI Leadership Council:

  • To support the planning and programming for the DEI Leadership Council’s annual goals and objectives and events.
  • Supporting the DEI Leadership Council’s Secretary in coordinating meetings, creating content and materials for the DEI Leadership Council weekly meetings.
  • Representing the Sr. Mgr. DEI in their absence on DEI related projects, events and Council meetings.
  • Responsible for tracking and reporting on DEI metrics to annual plan.
  • Compiles statistics, metrics, and reports to assess the progress and effectiveness of diversity initiative including tracking and reporting on DEI company-wide initiatives and activities.
  • Partner with Internal Communications to support all company-wide DEI notifications.
  • Participate on and provide support to the DEI Leadership Council to drive implementation of events and projects.
  • Participate on corporate project teams ensuring a DEI lens is captured in tasks, metrics, and outcomes
  • Provide support to the Supplier Diversity program, as needed
  • Provide support to Affinity Groups, as needed
  • Identify and support the implementation of best practices in diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging
  • Remain informed of trends in the diversity, equity, and inclusion space, and share relevant information as appropriate
  • Supports BCBSAZ core value of maintaining a heritage of service, by volunteering with, serving on, or supporting community organizations.
  • The position requires a full- time work schedule. Full time is defined as working at least 40 hours per week, plus any additional hours as requested or needed to meet business requirements.
